영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는 에베소서 1:3-14 말씀을 통하여, 하나님께서 택자에게 주시는 하늘의 신령한 복은 삼위 하나님의 구원 협약을 근거로 하여, 하나님의 택하심과 예정하심, 예수 그리스도의 십자가 대속사역, 그리고 성령님의 모든 은총의 적용과 인치심의 복으로, 그리스도 안에서 만물이 통일되게 하시기 위한 것으로 우리가 이런 복을 받았다고 배웠습니다. 이번 주에는 이어서 바울은 엡 1:15-23 에서, 이러한 복을 받은 에베소 교인들이 믿음과 사랑으로 충만함을 듣고 감사하며, 하나님께서 주시는 복이 에베소 교인들의 삶 속에 충만히 실현되기를 기도하고 있는데, 함께 보시면서 은혜 나눌 수 있기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Eph 1:3-14, we learned that we received heavenly spiritual blessings which God gave to the elect is the blessings of God’s election and pre-destination, Jesus’ vicarious atonement and the sealing and application of the merits Jesus earned for us, to the unification of the all things in Jesus Christ. This week, through Eph 1:15-23, Paul gives thanks to God since he heard that the Ephesians who received this blessings are filled with faith and love so that he intercedes that the blessings God gave them will be realized in the life of the Ephesians fully. We may learn few things from the text.
1) 지난 주에도 잠시 말씀드린데로 1세기 에베소 교회의 성도들은 비록 전지 전능하신 하나님 아버지에 대한 믿음을 고백했지만, 실제 그들의 일상에서는, 그 믿음으로 고백한 전지전능하신 하나님을 경험하고 누리며 살지는 못했던 것 같습니다. 그래서, 그들은 그당시 사회 일반에서 믿던 악령등의 존재들에 대한 두려움이 있는 체로 살아가고 있었고, 이에, 바울은 특히 엡1장을 통해서, 하나님의 전적인 구원에 대해 가르쳐 주면서, 예수 그리스도를 죽음에서 일으키신 하나님의 능력이 그리스도를 하늘과 땅의 모든 통치와 권세와 능력과 주권과 이 세상 뿐 만 아니라 앞으로 올 세상의 모든 이름보다 뛰어나게 하시고 만물을 그의 발아래 복종케 하셨는데, 교회는 바로 그 예수 그리스도의 몸으로써, 하나님의 영광과 충만함을 세상에 전하고 나누어야 할 존재임을 기억하고 살라고 권면하고 있습니다.
As I said last week, the Ephesians in the first century seems not to live the life to experience and enjoy Almighty God, even though they confessed their faith in God the Father who created and reigns heaven and earth in His providential care so that they lived with fear of the existence of the evil spirits which was believed by pagan. Therefore Paul reminds that the power of God through which Jesus was resurrected and seated Him at His right hand in the heaven far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and above every name not only in this age but also in the age to come and also that the church is His body to fill the fullness of God all in all.
2) 부연하면, 엡 1:3-14에서, 에베소 교인들에게 하나님께서는 그리스도 안에 있는 신령한 복을 이미 주셨는데, 그것은 이미 영원에서 삼위 하나님간의 구속협약(11절)에 근거하여, 창세전 성부 하나님의 택하심(4절)과 예정하심(5절), 성자 하나님이신 예수 그리스도의 속량 즉 대속 사역(7절), 그리고 성령 하나님의 인치심과 구원의 은혜의 적용해 주시는 은혜의 복을 주셨음을 설명한 후, 오늘 본문 1:15-23 에서 그런 신령한 복을 받은 에베소 교인들의 믿음과 넘치는 사랑의 소식을 전해 들은 바울은 하나님께 감사를 드리면서, 에베소 교인들에게 성령의 지혜와 계시가 더하여져서 하나님을 더 알고, 또 마음의 눈을 밝혀 주셔서 하나님께서 주시는 소망이 무엇인지, 하나님의 기업이 얼마나 풍성한 것인지를 알게 하실 뿐 만 아니라 이것을 이루실 하나님의 놀라운 능력이 얼마나 큰지를 알게 해 주시기를 중보하고 있습니다.
In other words, in Eph 1:3-14, after he explains that God already has given heavenly spiritual blessings in Jesus Christ; according to the counsel of His will (v.11), the blessings of the election and pre-destination of God the Father, the vicarious atonement of His Son, Jesus Christ and the sealing and application of the merits which Jesus earned already, in Eph 1:15-23, Paul gives thanks to God who gave all these spiritual blessings to them, hearing their faith and love, and also prays that God gave them the wisdom and revelation of the Spirit to know Him better, to understand what the hope in Him and the riches of His glorious inheritance are through enlightening their eyes of the heart, and also to know the great power of God toward the believers.
3) 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는 데, 첫번째로 오늘의 본문에서 바울이 기도하고 있는 것처럼, 우리도 하나님의 지식 안에서 더욱 자라나기 위해서는 성령의 지혜와 계시를 구해야 하며 또한 하나님께서 우리를 부르신 부르심의 소망이 무엇인지, 또 그 기업의 영광이 얼마나 풍성한 것인지 그리고 그것을 이루어 가시는 하나님의 능력은 얼마나 큰지를 알 수 있도록 하나님께서 우리의 눈을 밝혀 주시기를 우리가 구하여야 한다는 사실입니다. 비록 구원의 시작이 전적인 하나님의 사역이고 하나님의 능력으로 이루어지는 것이지만, 동시에 구원 안에서의 성장 즉 성화 사역에 있어서, 하나님께서는 우리가 하나님의 말씀도 읽고 성례에도 참석하며 또한 기도를 통하여 하나님의 성화 사역에 참여하게 하신다는 사실을 기억해야 합니다. 그리고, 두번째 이러한 모든 사역을 가능케 하시는 하나님의 능력은 그리스도를 죽음에서 다시 살리셔서, 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세 위에 만물의 통치자로 세우셨는 바, 그의 몸된 교회는 그리스도와 연합을 통해 모든 것들을 머리되신 예수님으로부터 공급받아, 세상을 충만케 하는 도구가 되어야 하는 것입니다. 그리고 마지막으로 우리는 보배이신 예수 그리스도를 담는 그릇이 되어 그를 드러내기 위해, 딤후 2:21 “그러므로 누구든지 이런 것에서 자기를 깨끗하게 하면 귀히 쓰는 그릇이 되어 거룩하고 주인의 쓰심에 합당하며 모든 선한 일에 준비함이 되리라”는 말씀처럼, 우리를 깨끗케 하기 위해 힘써야 할 줄로 믿습니다.
Through today’s Bible verses, we would like to learn few things. Firstly, as Paul intercedes, we also have to ask for the wisdom and revelation of the Holy Spirit to know more Him and the enlightening of God to see what the hope in Him and the riches of His glorious inheritance and to know the great power of God. Even though the salvation is the work of God wholly from the beginning to the end, in the same time, we have to remember that God invites us to read the Bible and to pray for the growth in His salvation and also to participate in the sacraments and asks for our obedience. Secondly, the power of God makes all these things possible, i.e., it unites all things in heaven and earth in Christ and raises Him from the death and seats Him as the King above all the power and authority in heaven and in earth, so that the church as His body has to be His tool to fill all in all with the fullness of God after being united with Christ through the Holy Spirit and receiving all from Him. And finally for this purpose to become a clean vessel to reveal Him, as 2 Tim 2:21 says “Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work,” we have to make our effort to clean us.
4) 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 반석교회 성도들이, 성령님의 지혜와 계시를 사모하는 가운데 하나님의 능력을 덧입고, 하나님의 충만한 은혜와 영광을 이 세상에 드러내고 보여줌으로 하나님께 영광 돌리는 삶을 살 수 있기를 소망합니다.
I pray that His beloved Saints of Bansuk community may receive the power of God while praying for the wisdom and revelation of the Holy Spirit and the enlightenment of God to express the fullness of God to the world to the glory of God.

Q1 As a kerosene oil lamp cannot light the room, when it’s glass is dirty, I think we can not light the light of our Lord to the world, it we are not clean. I wonder what it means we are not clean? Would you share your experiences or thoughts with your friends? 우리가 옛날 남포등의 유리를 깨끗이 닦지 않으면 방을 환하게 비출 수 없듯 우리도 자신을 깨끗하게 하지 않으면 우리 속에 계신 주님의 빛을 세상에 비출 수가 없을 것입니다. 우리가 우리 자신을 깨끗하게 한다는 것은 무엇을 말하는 것 일까요? 서로의 생각을 나누어 주시면 좋겠습니다.

Q2 And also in some cases, when something is full in our heart, it blocks others can see the light of our Lord. I wonder what is in us to block the glory of God to shine in the world. Would you share your thoughts with your group members? 그리고 어떤 경우에는 우리 속에 어떤 것들이 꽉 차 있을 경우, 사람들은 우리를 통해 주님을 보는 것이 아니라 우리 속에 있는 것들을 보게 될 것 입니다. 우리 속에 꽉 차 있어서 하나님의 영광을 가리는 것들이 있다면 어떤 것이 있을지 서로의 생각을 나누어 주면 좋겠습니다.
