영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
We believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는 로마서 15:1-13 말씀을 통하여, 성숙한 그리스도인의 믿음은 연약한 사람을 감싸주고 서로 품고 용납함으로 공동체의 덕을 세우고 교회가 하나되게 함으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리게 되는데, 그 믿음은 예수님을 본받아 사는 가운데 더 강해지고 성숙해 진다고 배웠습니다. 이번주에는 에베소서 1:3-14 말씀을 통하여, 삼위 하나님으로 부터 말미암는 우리의 구원이 얼마나 큰 구원인지 그리고 그 구원을 통하여 하나님께서 원하시는 것이 무엇인지 알아보고 같이 은혜 받을 수 있기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Rom 15:1-13, we learned that we may glorify God through building His church up and unifying her by bearing with the failings of the weak and accepting each other after growing in the faith while following Him. This week, through Eph 1:3-14, we would like to learn how great Trinitarian salvation is and what the purpose of that is.
1) 오늘 읽은 에베소서는 AD 60-61 경 바울이 로마에서 가이사 앞에서의 재판을 앞두고 가택 연금 상태에 있을 때, 에베소 교회 (바울의 2차 전도 여행중, 그리스지역에서의 사역을 마치고 예루살렘을 돌아 안디옥 교회로 돌아가던 중, 에베소에 들렀다가 그곳에 브리스길라와 아굴라 부부를 남겨 두었는데, 그 뒤에 합류한 아볼로와 함께 사역함으로 교회가 생겼고, 그후 바울이 3차 전도 여행때 다시 약속한 대로 에베소에 들러, 2년이상 머물면서, 두란노 서원에서 성경 강해를 했음)에 보낸 서신으로, 에베소 교회의 새 신자들 즉, 유대 전통, 미신, 마술과 점성술에 젖어 있던 신자들이 아직도 악령들과 마귀들에 대한 두려움들을 가지고 있다는 말을 전해 듣고, 그들에게 하나님의 구원이 얼마나 확실한 것이며, 또한, 그리스도는 모든 피조물들을 능가하여 으뜸되심을 가르쳐 주면서, 에베소의 신자들에게 그리스도의 죽음과 부활 그리고 그의 충만함에 참여함으로 술취함, 성문란, 거짓말, 도적질, 언어 폭력등 각종 악덕들을 버리고 기독인으로써 구별된 삶을 살 뿐 만 아니라, 유대인과 이방인들이 그리스도의 교회 안에서 연합하도록 권면하기 위하여 이 편지를 써 보냈습니다.
The Epistle to the Ephesians was written around AD 60-61 when Paul was imprisoned in the house while waiting the trial by Caesar in Rome, to the Ephesian church which was started by Priscilla and Aquila whom Paul left in Ephesus where he visited in his way to return from the second mission trip to Greece and was founded by Paul who stayed there for two years to preach in the hall of Tyrannus in His third mission trip. This epistle was written to explain the greatness of Trinitarian salvation and the supremacy of Christ over all the creation, especially the evil or demonic powers in order to deal with the fear of new believers who were converted from the background in Judaism, local religion, magic and astrology so that still they were afraid of them, and also to exhort believers to live in a distinct Christian lifestyle free from vices such as drunkenness, sexual immorality, lying, stealing, and bitterness, etc., by participating in His suffering, crucifixion and resurrection and to exhort that Jews and gentiles were united in Him.
2) 에베소서는 1장; 삼위 하나님의 전적인 확실한 구속 사역에 대한 찬양과 기도, 2장; 그리스도 안에서 지어진 새사람을 통한 화목, 3장; 복음에 대한 바울의 청지기 직분과 중보기도, 4장; 그리스도 안에서 하나됨에 대한 권면과 그리스도 안에서의 정체성과 생활 양식, 5장 1-21절; 빛의 자녀로서 지혜와 성령 안에서 삶, 5장22절-6장9절; 페레네시스 (Paraenesis) 즉 실제적인 삶의 문제를 다루는 도덕적이고 종교적인 권면들, 6장 10-20절; 어둠의 권세를 능가하는 하나님의 능력, 6장 21-24절; 결론과 축도로 구성되어 있습니다.
The Ephesians are composed of 6 chapters; In chapter Paul praises to the holistic and firm salvation of the redemptive works of Triune God and the intercessory prayer, chapter 2 about reconciliation in new humanity of Jesus between Jews and Gentiles, chapter 3 on His stewardship for the Gospel and His second intercessory prayer, chapter 4 to exhort the unification in Christ and the identity and new lifestyle in Christ, 5:1-21 new life in wisdom and the Spirit as the children of light, 5:22-6:9 paraenesis, i.e., moral and religious exhortation toward practical life issues, 6:10-20 about the supreme power of God against the evil or demonic powers, and 6:21-24 conclusion and benediction.
In Today’s Bible text, Paul exhorts that we have to praise God due to His spiritual blessings in Jesus Christ which Triune God prepared and gave us, i.e., according to the eternal covenant of redemption in the eternity (v.11), the election and pre-destination of God the Father, the vicarious atoning work of Jesus Christ who shed His blood in the cross in His abundant grace, and the sealing and application of the merits which Jesus Christ earned by the Holy Spirit so that we may glorify God after being His glory.
4) 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는 데, 첫번째로 오늘의 본문에 의하면, 우리의 구원은 전적인 삼위 하나님의 사역, 즉 영원 전 구원 협약에 근거한, 하나님 아버지의 택하심과 예정하심, 그리스도의 십자가 대속 사역, 그리고 성령님의 인치심과 구원의 적용 사역에 근거하고 있음을 알 수 있습니다. 따라서, 우리는 이런 큰 구원 (히 2:3)으로 인하여 어떠한 상황에서도 하나님께서 우리를 끝까지 구원하실 것을 확신하며 살 수 있습니다. 두번째는 우리 구원의 영원성으로 말미암아, 즉 창세전 영원, 즉 어제도 오늘도 내일도 변함없는 영원에서 우리의 구원이 구원 협약에 의해 결정된 바, 우리를 거룩하게 흠이 없게 하시려고, 하나님께서 택하시고 예정하셨기에, 우리는 또한 그의 뜻대로 우리의 성화의 완성에 대해 확신을 가지고 살 수 있습니다. 그리고 마지막으로 이러한 객관적 구원으로 말미암아 우리는 하나님의 은혜의 영광을 찬송하며(6절) 또한 하나님의 영광을 찬양하게 될(14절) 뿐 만 아니라, 심지어 12절에서 말씀하는 것처럼, 우리가 그의 영광의 찬송이 되는 삶을 살아야 할 줄로 믿습니다.
Through today’s Bible verses, we would like to learn few things. Firstly, according to Today’s text, we know that our salvation is founded on total Trinitarian work, i.e., based on the eternal covenant of redemption, the election and predestination of God the Father, the vicarious atoning work of Jesus Christ in the cross and the sealing and application of the merits which Jesus earned by the Holy Spirit so that we may have confidence that God will complete His great salvation of us in any situation and circumstance. Secondly, since our salvation is determined in the eternity, through the eternal covenant of redemption to be holy and blameless, we can be confident to be holy in the end. Thirdly, I believe that because of these objective redemption of God, we have to praise His glorious grace and glorify Him and also we have to live the life to become His glory (v.12).
5) 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 반석교회 자녀들과 가족들과 교회가, 하나님의 크신 은혜를 깨닫고, 하나님께 영광이 되는 삶을 살 수 있기를 소망합니다.
I pray that His beloved Bansuk children, families and church may recognize His grace for our redemption to live life to glorify God.

I wonder how we can please our parent? Would you share your experiences or thoughts with your friends? 여러분들 중에는 결혼을 하시고 아이를 가지신 분들도 있고 아직 결혼을 하지 않으신 분들도 있을 줄 압니다. 부모로서 늘 아이들이 잘 되는 것이 부모의 바램이기에, 설혹 부모에게 잘 못하는 아이들이라도 잘되는 것을 바라고 자식이 잘 되는 것을 기뻐하기는 하지만, 그래도 잘되고 못되고를 떠나 부모님을 기쁘게 하는 자녀들은 있는 것 같습니다. 부모님께서 어떤 것을 기뻐하시는지 생각해 보시고, 서로의 생각을 나누어 주시면 좋겠습니다.

Q2 According to Today’s text, we know that God wanted for us to thank and glorify Him after Triune God saves us totally in their love, grace and work and even to become a praise of His glory. I hope you may share your idea or thought on what it means to become a praise of His glory. 오늘 본문에도 보면, 삼위 하나님의 전적인 사랑과 은혜와 사역을 통해서 우리를 구원해 주시고, 하나님의 은혜에 감사하고 하나님께 영광돌리는 삶을 살기를 원하시지만, 한걸음 더 나아가 우리가 하나님의 영광의 찬송이 되기를 원하신다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 우리가 하나님의 영광의 찬송이 된다는 것이 어떤 의미일지 서로의 생각을 나누어 주면 좋겠습니다.
