영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
I believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with Spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는 마 11:2-30 말씀을 통하여, 예수님의 멍에를 지고 주님의 성품인 겸손과 온유를 배우고 주님께서 주시는 쉼과 평강을 누릴 것을 다짐 하였습니다. 이번 주에는 딤후 3:10-17 말씀을 통하여, 하나님의 말씀의 네가지 기능과 말씀을 배워야 하는 목적에 대해서 알아보고 함께 은혜 나누기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Mt. 11:2-30, we hoped for His rest and peace through learning His humility and meekness by taking His yoke. This Week, through 2 Tim 3:10-17, we would like to learn four functions of the Word of God and the purpose of learning His word.
1) 디모데 후서는 바울이 AD 66-67 년경 그의 두번째 로마 감금시 소아시아 지역에 있는 디모데에게 쓴 목양서신으로 순교를 앞두고 디모데에게 마지막 권면을 하는 내용인데, 거짓 교사들과 거짓 사도들에 대해 조심할 것과 그의 사역을 격려하는 서신서입니다.
The second Timothy was written by Paul around AD 66-67 perhaps during his second Roman imprisonment to Timothy in Asia Minor to convey his last thoughts and exhortations to Timothy in the face of probable martyrdom (4:6–8) and to warn against certain false teachers and apostate brothers, and to further encourage Timothy in the conduct of his ministry and is the second of the “Pastoral Letters.”[1]
2) 오늘의 본문은 디모데에게 말세에 고통하는 때 즉, 하나님을 사랑하기 보다 자기를 사랑하는 (근본적인 죄) 시대로, (1) 개인주의의 죄악 (1-2 상반) 으로서 자기 사랑, 돈사랑, 자긍, 교만이고, (2) 권위 무시의 죄악 (2 하반) 으로서 훼방, 부모 거역, 배은 망덕, 거룩하지 않음이고, (3) 몰인정한 죄악 (3 상반) 으로서 무정, 불화, 참소이고, (4) 패역한 성질의 발동 (3 하반-4 상반) 으로서 극기하지 아니함, 사나움, 선에 대한 반역, 배반, 조급, 자고함 등 이고, (5) 종교적 죄악 (4 하반- 5)으로서 쾌략주의, 종교적 외식 등[2]의 죄악이 만연한 시대 (1-5절) 가 될 뿐 만 아니라, 이단의 죄악에 이를 것인데, (1) 이단은 은밀히 퍼짐, (2) 어리석은 자들을 방편으로 사용, (3) 진리를 대적하고, (4) 종국에는 실패하는 것 (6-9절) 인 바, 이런 이단을 이기는 비결 (10-17절) 은, 예수 안에서 경건하게 살고자 하는 사람은 핍박을 받을 것이지만, 디모데가 바울의 삶에서 보았던 것처럼 주께서 이러한 모든 핍박과 고난 가운데서 건져 주실 것인 바, 바울이 가르쳐 준 교훈과 그의 행실과 그의 전도의 목적을 잘 되새기고, 믿음과 오래 참음과 사랑과 인내를 견지하되, 무엇보다도 어려서 부터 알고 있는 성경과 그에 대한 확고한 믿음을 가지고 배운데로 살아가는 것이라고 권면하고 있습니다. 왜냐하면, 성경은 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음으로 말미암아 구원에 이르게 할 뿐 만 아니라, 하나님의 사람으로 온전하며 모든 선한 일을 행할 수 있는 능력을 구비하게 하여 줄 것 (목적) 인데, 그 이유는 성경은 성령의 영감으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기 (네가지 기능) 에 유익하기 때문이라고 말하고 있습니다. 여기서 교훈과 책망은 “διδασκαλία” (디다스칼리아, didaskalia)와 ἐλεγμός (엘레그모스, elegmos) 인데, 참 진리 즉 바른 교리적 가르침과 잘못된 가르침에 대한 교정을 의미하며, 바르게 함과 의로 교육함은 ἐπανόρθωσις (에파노르쏘시스, epanorthosis) 와 παιδεία (파이데이아, paideia) 인데, 이 단어는 Reformation of manner, 즉 행실 혹은 삶의 변화와 discipline 즉 행실의 교정을 의미하는 바, 결국 바른 진리와 삶으로 인도함 받음을 말씀하고 있습니다.
Today’s text says that in the end era, there comes difficult time when people will not love God and love themselves more so that the sins will be saturated, i.e., the sins of individualism (vv.1-2ff), such as self-love, money love, arrogance and pride, the sins to ignore the authority (v.2rr), abusiveness, disobedience to their parents, ungratefulness, and unholiness, the sins of inhumanity (v.3ff), heartlessness, dissension, slander, the sins of rebellion (vv.3rr-4ff), inability of self-control, brutality, evilness, treacherousness, recklessness, self-exaltation, the religious sins (vv.4rr-5), hedonism, religious hypocrisy and also the sins of heresy, which creeps into households and uses weak people who cannot discern the truth, stands against the truth and fails finally so that the countermeasure to these heresy is, since people who live godly life will be persecuted, to remember our Lord will save us from all the persecution and sufferings, to continue in faith, endurance, love and perseverance, after reminding the teachings and life example by Paul and his purpose to proclaim the gospel, and above all to live in what we learned from the Bible and the firm faith on it, because the Bible makes us wise for our salvation and mature and equips us for every good works since it is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness where teaching in Greek “διδασκαλία” (didaskalia) means teaching of truth and healthy doctrine, reproof in Greek ἐλεγμός (elegmos) means correction of false teaching, correction in Greek ἐπανόρθωσις (epanorthosis) means reformation of behavior, and training in Greek παιδεία (paideia) means the correction of behavior through discipline, so that we were led to healthy doctrine and sound life.
3) 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는데, 첫쩨는 오늘날과 같이 영적으로 혼탁한 시대에는 무엇보다도 바르게 배우는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 오늘 본문 앞절에도 보면 항상 배우나 끝내 진리의 지식에 이를 수 없는 사람도 있다 (v.7) 고 하는데 이는 가만히 즉 남들 모르게 들어가 유인하는 (그릇된 길로 잘못 인도하는) 거짓 교사들이, 아직 연약하여 진리를 분별할 수 없고, 잘못된 욕심에 이끌리는 사람들을 오히려 더 깊은 죄에 빠지게 만들기 때문이라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 그러므로, 1세기 로마 제국하에서와 같이 신앙이 겉으로 드러나게 되면 죽음을 각오해야 했던 시대가 아닌 지금과 같은 종교 자유의 시대에 교회 내 혹은 밖에서 공적으로 드러낼 수 없는 교육이나 성경공부들에 대해서는 우리가 조심하고 또 조심해야 할 줄로 압니다. 그리고 두번째, 모든 가르침이 그러하듯이, 바른 진리를 배우는 것도 중요하지만, 그 가르침대로 실행하는 것도 중요합니다. 그래서 성경은 그저 바른 진리를 배우고 알아야 할 뿐 만 아니라, 그 가르침에 비추어 자기의 지식체계를 점검해 보고 교정도 하고, 우리의 삶 즉 우리의 행동을 reformation (변화) 시키고, 또한 행동이 잘못 되었을 때 discipline 즉 고침을 받아야한다고 말씀하며, 믿음은 순종과 항상 함께 가는 것이라고 하는 것 입니다.
Through today’s text, we would like to learn few things; Firstly, we have to remember that it is very important to learn rightly in this spiritually dark era. Today’s text also says that there were people who cannot be arrive at a knowledge of the truth, since they were mis-led by false teacher who creep into households, capture weak people who cannot discern what the truth is, burden with sins to them who were led astray by various passions. Therefore in this contemporary era when there seems no public persecution, not as Roman period when public declaration as Christians result into death, we have to be very careful in order not to participate in the teaching group which we cannot open. Secondly, it is very important to act as we learned. Therefore today’s text says in v.16 that the Bible makes us to be taught through sound theology and helps us to correct our knowledge of God and also lead us reformation of our behavior and deeds and discipline us when we do wrong. So it is said that true faith results in obedience always.
4) 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 반석교회 교우님들과 자녀들과 주의 청년들이, 성령 강림후 열일곱번째 주일을 맞아, 하나님의 말씀, 즉 이 땅에 성육신 하신 말씀이신 예수님 (요 1:1, 9)과 기록된 말씀인 성경 (요 20:21)과 선포된 말씀, 즉 복음의 강설 (딤후 4:2) 을 통하여, 참된 지식, 즉 바른 앎과 바른 삶으로 인도함 받는 우리 반석 공동체 모두가 되시기를 기도합니다.
I pray that His beloved Saints, Ban-Suk congregation and our children and His young adults may be led into true knowledge and right living through the Word of God, i.e., the incarnated Word (Jn 1:1, 9), Jesus, the written Word, the Bible (Jn 20:21), and the proclaimed Word, the preaching of Gospel (2 Tim 4:2) in the seventeenth Sunday after the Pentecost.

In John 3:36 “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him,” the faith is used as the synonym of the obedience. That’s why Jacob 2:17 says “So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” I am wondering how much you know God? And how much do you obey to His teaching in your life? I hope you may review your knowledge of God and life in Jesus.
Q2 오늘 본문 12절에는 “무릇 그리스도 예수 안에서 경건하게 살고자 하는 자는 박해를 받”을 것이라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 종교의 자유가 있는 땅에 살면서, 이런 표면적 박해는 일어나지 않을 수 있기에, 경건하게 살고자 하는 마음이 있는지를 점검해 보는 것은 쉽지 않을 수 있습니다. 그러나, 벧후 2:7 말씀처럼, 무법한 사람들 속에서 살아야 하는 우리는 실은 한없는 내적 고통을 당할 수 있습니다. 물질주의와 상대주의 그리고 동성애 등과 같은 세기말적 죄악이 가득한 이 땅에서, 진리를 붙들고 살아야 하는 우리들은 전방위적 압박 속에서 내적 고통 속에서 주님의 경건의 능력이 우리를 붙들어 주시기를 기도하지 않으면 안될 줄 믿습니다. 그런 의미에서 이 죄악된 세상에서 얼마나 핍박을 받고 있는가? 우리 자신의 삶을 돌아볼 수 있었으면 좋겠습니다. Today’s text v.12 says “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” Since we live in this country of liberty of religion so that we do not receive persecutions in public. Therefore it is not so easy to check whether we live a godly life in Christ by checking whether we receive persecution or no. But, still as 2 Peter 2:7 says “and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked,” we may be distressed by the evil conduct of the wicked, i.e., materialism, relativism, or varieties of the sins in the end era so that we may pray God to hold us with His power of godliness. In this sense, I think we need to review our life whether we receive persecution from the world.
