영과 진리로 예배하는 예배자를 찾으시는 하나님 아버지께서, 우리의 예배를 통해 올려 드리는 모든 감사와 찬양과 영광을 기쁘게 받으실 줄 믿습니다.
I believe that Heavenly Father, who is looking for worshipers who worship with Spirit and truth, will gladly receive all the thanks, praise, and glory that we offer through our worship.
지난 주에는 눅 8:9-18 말씀을 통하여, 우리가 하나님의 말씀을 들을 때, 정직하고 착한 마음으로 순종하며 인내함으로 듣도록 스스로 삼가고 조심하여야 한다고 배웠습니다. 이번 주에는 히 2:1-4 말씀을 통하여, 우리가 들은 말씀에 유념함으로 흘러 떠내려가지 않도록 하여야 한다는 저자의 권면에 대해서 함께 생각해 보고 은혜 나누기를 소망합니다.
Last week, through Lk. 8:9-18, we learned that we have to hear God’s word with honest and good heart to keep it and persevere. This week, through Heb 2:1-4, we would like to meditate on paying attention to what we have heard.
1) 히브리서는 구약과 유대 전통을 잘아는 제자(아볼로 혹은 바울)가 로마(추정)교회의 유대 커뮤니티에 보낸 서신서로, 전반부에는 예수님의 탁월성과 충분성에 대해서 논한 후, 즉, 하나님의 아들 예수는 하나님의 영광의 광채시요 본체의 형상으로, 능력의 말씀으로 만물을 붙드시며, 죄를 정결케 하는 일을 하시며, 하나님 우편에 앉아 다스리는 분이신데 (1:3), 천사보다 뛰어나시며, 자비가 많으시고 신실하신 대 제사장이자 영원한 구원의 원천이라고 말씀한 후, 믿음 안에서 인내하고 거룩한 생활을 하라고 권면하고 있습니다.
The Epistle to the Hebrews is the letter that a disciple who knew very well the Old Testament and Jewish tradition such as Apollo or Paul, etc., may write to the recipients who knew very well them too probably at the Roman church and in which firstly he explains the supremacy and sufficiency of Christ, i.e., the Son of God is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, upholds the universe by the word of His power, making purification for sins and reigning at the right hand of the Majesty on high (1:3), to be much superior to angels as compassionate and faithful High priest and the source of eternal salvation and then exhorts to live holy life with perseverance in faith.
2) 특히 오늘 본문 1장에서는 복음의 근원이자 핵심이시고 복음 그 자체이신 예수님은
- 하나님의 영광의 광채시요 그 본체의 형상으로 (하나님)
- 하나님은 예수님으로 말미암아 모든 세계를 지으셨으며 (창조)
- 예수님은 그의 능력의 말씀으로 만물을 붙드시며 (섭리)
- 죄를 정결하게 하는 일을 하시고 (구속주)
- 맏아들로서 만유의 상속자가 되셔서 하나님의 우편에 앉아 세상을 다스리시는데
예수님은 천사보다 훨씬 뛰어 나신 분으로 경배를 받으시는 분 즉, 삼위 하나님중 제2위격의 신이신 바, 따라서, 예수님께서 선포하신 복음, 예수님 그 자체이신 복음에 우리는 유념해야 한다고 말씀하고 있습니다. (2장) 그리고 이 복음은,
- 옛적부터 선지자들을 통하여 말씀하신 것으로
- 이제 마지막 날에 예수님을 통하여 말씀하셨고
- 또 주께 들은 자들이 확증한 바요
- 하나님께서 표적과 기사들과 여러가지 능력들과 하나님의 능력을 따라 성령이 나누어 주신 것들을 통하여 증언된 것으로
- 지금도 하나님의 말씀 사역자들을 통해 증거되어 지고 있는데
이 큰 구원의 복음을 등한히 여기면, 반드시 보응을 받을 것이라고 말씀하면서, 들은 것에 유념하면서, 흘러 떠내려가지 않도록 하라고 권면하고 있습니다.
Especially according to ch. 1 of Today’s text, Jesus Christ, as the source and the essence of the Gospel and also Gospel itself;
- is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature,
- through whom God created the world,
- upholds the universe by the word of His power
- making purification for sins and reigning the world at the right hand of Majesty on high.
so that we have to pay much closer attention to what we have heard, the gospel, which God the Son whom we have to worship as God proclaimed.
And God spoke this gospel
- to fathers of the Israelites by the prophets
- to them by His Son
- which was attested by those who heard
- and was bored by signs, wonders, various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit
- and also has been declared by His ministers of the Word
so that it is exhorted that we have to pay much closer attention to what we have heard, in order not to be drifted away, since how we shall escape if we neglect such a great salvation.
3) 오늘 본문 말씀을 통해서 몇가지 은혜를 나누기 원하는데, 첫째는 오늘 본문 2:1 “흘러 떠내려 가다”는 헬라어 단어는 “παραρρέω (pararreo, 파라레오)”는 ‘to drift away from a belief’, ‘to gradually give up one’s belief in the truth’[1] 즉 ‘믿음에서 점점 멀어지다’, ‘점차적으로 진리에 대한 믿음을 포기하다’란 뜻으로, 어떤 크고 대단한 공격을 받아 급격하게 일어난 변화가 아니라, 서서히 조금씩 점점 믿음에서 멀어지게 된 상태를 의미합니다. 이것이 사단이 주로 우리의 믿음을 공격하는 방법입니다. 갑자기 큰 죄를 짓게 하기보다 서서히 조그만 죄들로 우리의 믿음을 갉아 먹어가는데, 시간이 흐르고 어느 순간에 보면 우리가 많이 떠내려 가버려 돌이킬려면 엄청난 노력을 기울여야 하는 바 항상 깨어 있어야 합니다. 두번째, 이러한 것을 방지하는 방법을 본문에서 제시하고 있는데, 그것이 바로 들은 것을 유념하는 것이라고 말하고 있습니다. ‘유념하다’라고 번역된 προσέχω (prosecho, 프로세코) 는 사전적 의미가 ‘주의하다’, ‘삼가다’인데 Louw-Nida 사전에서는 ‘to be in a continuous state of readiness to learn of any future danger, need, or error, and to respond appropriately’—‘to pay attention to, to keep on the lookout for, to be alert for, to be on one’s guard against’[2]이를 풀어쓰면 미래에 일어날 위험과 잘못들에 대하여 항상 대응할 준비가 된 상태로 있다가 문제가 발생할 시 적절히 대응하는 것으로, 복음을 삼가 주의하여 듣고 앞으로 일어날 수 있는 위험과 잘못들에 대하여 항상 준비를 하여, 어떤 상황이 일어나도 적절하게 대응할 수 있는 마음 자세를 가지고 살아야 한다고 이해할 수 있습니다.
Through Today’s text, we would like to learn few things; Firstly, the Greek “παραρρέω (pararreo)” means ‘to drift away from a belief’ or ‘to gradually give up one’s belief in the truth’ so that this is the state that we lose our faith gradually, not the abrupt losing of our faith by an strong attack. This is typical way Satan makes us drift away from our faith. Rather than suddenly causing us to commit a big sin, Satan makes us gradually drift away from faith as time goes by through small but continuous sins and finally at some time later, we come too far and it requires tremendous effort to return. So secondly, today’s text suggests a way to prevent this which is to pay much close attention what we have heard. The Greek ‘προσέχω (proseco) means not only 'to be careful' or 'to refrain from', but also 'to be in a continuous state of readiness to learn of any future danger, need, or error, and to respond appropriately' by the Louw-Nida dictionary so that it suggests that we have to be prepared to possible dangers and errors in the future in order not to be drifted away and to respond appropriately by paying attention to what we have heard.
4) 기도하옵기는, 사랑하는 우리 반석교회 성도님들과 자녀들과 주의 청년들이, 성령강림후 열아홉번째 주일을 맞아, 주의 말씀을 유념하여 주의깊게 듣고, 늘 깨어 있음으로, 세파에 떠내려 가지 않고, 오히려 일상의 작은 도전들에서 승리를 쌓아가는 우리 모두가 되기를 소망합니다.
I pray that His beloved Saints of Ban-Suk congregation and children and young adults may be awaken by taking much closer attention what we have heard to be prepared for possible drift away in our daily life, rather may accumulate small victories against small challenges in our daily life, in the nineteenth Sunday after the Pentecost.

As we learned from today’s text, in order not to be drifted away, it is said that we have to be awaken by paying attention to what we have heard. By reviewing our life, I am wondering if there is any small things which will make you drift away. What are those small challenges in your life?
Q2 자기 삶의 작은 도전들은 우리가 깨어 있지 않고 대하면, 우리를 무너뜨리는 위험 요소가 될 수 있지만, 그런 것들을 잘 인지하면, 어떤 면에서는 작은 성공 이야기로 만들어 갈 수 있어서, 오히려 그런 승리의 이야기들을 모아갈 수 있는 기회가 될 것입니다. Q1 에서 살펴본 작은 두더지들에 대해서, 어떻게 하면 그것들을 이겨낼 수 있을지 한번 생각해 보기를 원합니다. The small challenges which can make us drift away becomes risks for our life if we do not pay attention to them. But, if we knew what they are and how we can defeat them, we can accumulate the stories of victory to them. Against those small challenges in our life which you find through Q1, I am wondering how you will be prepared for and find the countermeasure to them?
